Lichfields appoints new Senior Director to drive growth in Midlands office

22 Aug 2019
Following on from the recent opening of its Birmingham office, Lichfields is pleased to announce that the highly experienced planning and development consultant Stephen Hollowood has joined them to help spearhead the company’s growth in the Midlands and South.
Stephen is well known in the Midland market having previously led the Birmingham Planning and Development team at Avison Young (formerly GVA) for 30 years. He also headed up their public sector consultancy advisory offer for a number of years. In his time at Avison Young/GVA, Stephen advised on a large range of key projects including delivery of the MoD’s estate rationalisation strategy; bringing forward of strategic housing sites for Homes England; key research to inform the West Midland’s Land Commission Report; and developments such as the Library of Birmingham; Curzon Street HS2 station; New Street Station; Snow Hill and the regeneration of the Curzon, Digbeth and Smithfield areas of Birmingham City Centre.
Our new Birmingham office has got off to a flying start in its first 6 months. Stephen joining us is great news. His wealth of experience and business network will build on this strong foundation, enabling him to work closely with fellow Senior Director Jon Kirby, to diversify the firm’s client base and our portfolio of high profile projects. Additionally, Stephen will collaborate closely with London office colleagues to promote our advisory role in the public sector space, particularly in the South and Midlands, a sector where we see strong potential.

James Fennell, Chief Executive

I’m hugely excited to have the opportunity to facilitate growth of the company’s Birmingham presence, alongside former colleagues, whilst also playing a key national role in expanding Lichfields’ increasingly successful public sector consultancy business. This dual role fits well with my strategic advisory background and expertise and will enable me to build upon Lichfields’ extensive network of client contacts to add significant value to the business as a whole. The business opportunity is immense, and with the strength of the Lichfields’ brand and excellent research capability to call upon, I have no doubt that this move will be a real success.

Stephen Hollowood, Senior Director
