Community Infrastructure Levy toolkit
Toolkit and ‘how to’ guide for clients
Lichfields' Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) toolkit helps clients understand project liability issues associated with CIL, and assists with calculating and paying the levy. It provides advice on making submissions on draft infrastructure lists, on viability assessments and emerging charging schedules.
Likewise for landowners, developers and applicants promoting new projects, the toolkit helps explain the Regulations in terms of how the levy for any one scheme is calculated. The toolkit includes careful consideration at pre-application stage, for details of possible exemptions, exceptions, reliefs, and the scope for payment by instalment.
The CIL toolkit also leads to early consideration of whether a planning permission should be for a phased development. And if an approved scheme has to be amended, it involves analysis of a whole host of other CIL Regulations that will come into play and that will affect calculation of the final levy payment.
