In recent years, inward investment – or Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) as it is commonly known - has been on the rise, and indeed the UK attracted the highest level of FDI in Europe 2015. However, with uncertainty surrounding Brexit, the UK’s future performance in attracting FDI is unclear.

The report highlights the success of the region in attracting investment from outside the EU and the need to continue to support this growth in order to secure the region’s future economic success. However, it also highlights the wide range of organisations engaged in promoting FDI in the region, and significant levels of cross-over in target sectors.
