The Scottish Government has published its much-anticipated consultation on the future of the Scottish planning system.
The proposals in ‘Places, People and Planning: A consultation of the future of the Scottish Planning System’ build on the recommendations of an independent review carried out by a panel of experts in 2016, which reported in May 2016 to the Scottish Government. Lichfields views expressed to the Housing Working Group as part of the review are reflected in the consultation.
We also report on new legislation making it easier for communities in Scotland to take over public land or buildings, and the implementation of restricting changes to use classes and permitted development rights.
