2018’s planning reforms are this month’s headline news, including changes in the rules for local and neighbourhood plan review. Together with a 20% application fee rise, these measures are intended to boost the supply of new homes, through policies being more up to date and planning departments being better resourced.
We also report on changes to the community infrastructure levy: a ‘clarifactory’ amendment is on its way, while more wide-ranging proposals will be consulted on ‘in due course’.
