£260m plans submits for Gateshead Quays’ Arena
29 Apr 2020A full planning application has been submitted for the development of the £260m Gateshead Quays arena, conference and exhibition centre.
The Newcastle office of Lichfields submitted the application to Gateshead Council on behalf of the development partners Ask:PATRIZIA.
Set to open in 2023, the 790,000 sq ft development will host international conferences, exhibitions as well as music and cultural events.
It is situated on the iconic NewcastleGateshead Quayside, directly in front the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.
The 12,500 capacity arena will be operated by ASM Global, an international conference and exhibition centre; the development also features a dual-branded hotel, restaurants, and extensive areas of public realm.
Gateshead Quays has witnessed a major programme of regeneration in recent years and we are delighted to have submitted the planning application for this latest, superb landmark scheme.
