Melissa Wilson shortlisted for RTPI North West Young Planner of the Year
Lichfields is delighted that Melissa Wilson has been shortlisted for Young Planner of the Year at the North West Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Awards. The award recognises qualified planners with less than 10 years experience.
Joining Lichfields in 2018, Melissa has quickly built a strong portfolio of project experience applying her technical expertise to national infrastructure, energy and residential schemes. These have included securing planning permission for a hybrid scheme of over 50,000sqm of commercial/industrial floor space on behalf of Prologis in Daventry, promoting a range of strategic residential sites for Taylor Wimpey across the North West and securing consent for peaking power facilities and battery storage schemes ranging between 5MW and 20MW on behalf of Conrad Energy.
Melissa is a Chartered Member of both the RTPI and Landscape Institute and is currently progressing a qualification to become a Practitioner Member of IEMA. She often attends University events to talk to students about the planning sector and careers in both Planning and Landscape professions and has taught in primary school classes to engage all ages in working in the built environment. Melissa has embedded herself into the North West’s property market, recently organising an event to celebrate International Women’s Day in Manchester and last year revived Lichfields’ ‘Planning, Politics and Prosecco’ seminar event for young professionals.
The winners will be announced following virtual presentations on September 7th and 8th.
In such a short time Melissa has made a excellent addition to the Manchester office, bringing an outstanding skillset that assists Lichfields’ clients achieve their objectives.
