Ed Welch

Ed is an Economics Consultant with experience working on a range of economic development projects with clients both from the private and public sectors. He has particular expertise in local plan evidence base work, developing and appraising business cases, and assessing the social and economic impacts of a broad range of development projects. This includes major mixed-use regeneration schemes, as well as nationally significant energy infrastructure projects. Ed joined Lichfields in 2023, having previously worked for a multinational private sector consultancy.

Recent project experience includes assessing the socio-economic impact of a number of large mixed-use developments in London, developing the economic case for a successful Levelling-Up Fund business case, and producing an Employment Needs Assessment for a Central London Borough.
