George joined Lichfields as a Heritage Consultant in 2021, having graduated from the University of Manchester with a Master’s degree in History at a distinction grade. George is a member of the London Branch Committee of the IHBC.
Since joining Lichfields George has been involved in a variety of planning, heritage and townscape projects for clients in the public and private sector. George’s role in these projects has involved archival and desk-based research, the preparation of heritage impact assessments and statements of significance, advising on heritage opportunities and constraints, preparing and submitting Listed Building Consent and planning applications, heritage inputs to EIA screening, works to listed and locally listed buildings and new development within the setting of heritage assets.
George has experience on projects involving the full range of heritage assets. This includes a recent application for a marquee within a Grade I Registered Park and Garden and WHS, within the setting of Grade I Listed building. George also has experience with listed hotels, including the submission of a planning and listed building consent application at the Grade II* Le Manoir aux Quat’Saison.
George has also assisted on the long-term residential redevelopment of Trent Park. This has involved the preparation, submission, and management of a series of discharge of condition applications for Listed Building Consent conditions.
