James Singer

James has extensive experience advising the private and public sector on residential, commercial and mixed-use projects, with a specific expertise in retail planning and town centre strategies.

He has advised on development sites across the UK and provides planning expertise to Local Authorities and the UK Government. As a result of this work he has gained detailed knowledge of the planning system, led on a variety of planning strategies, and is experienced at managing multi-disciplinary teams for residential and commercial developments.

He also has significant experience undertaking analysis for town centre strategies and capacity modelling based around household survey findings and is well versed in the production of retail impact assessments, retail audits, studies and strategies for local planning authorities, including as Expert Witness at appeal and Examination in Public.
