Holly Johnston

Planner

Birmingham

BSc (Hons); MSc

Holly joined Lichfields in August 2026 after gaining experience at Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council, where she worked within the Development Management team, primarily dealing with householder and minor planning applications, particularly in the Green Belt. This role gave her a strong foundation in interpreting planning policy, assessing proposals, and engaging with applicants and consultees.

Holly studied at the University of Plymouth, completing both an undergraduate degree in Geography and a master’s in Planning. Before undertaking her master’s and joining the planning sector, Holly spent a year working for a Land Promotion company as a Graduate Geography Researcher, gaining experience in site searching, assessment of constraints and opportunities of specific sites, and monitoring of local authorities.

At Lichfields, Holly is now gaining experience in a variety of sectors and is working towards RTPI Chartership status.
