Doon Street

The Doon Street development comprises a comprehensive mixed use masterplan which extends across three phases and will deliver new housing in a 43 storey tower, a headquarters for the Rambert Dance Company (now complete), retail, education and, of most significance, a new multipurpose sports centre including a swimming pool to serve the Waterloo area. The project required extensive consultation and gained the support of Lambeth and the Mayor of London. Following call-in by the Secretary of State, Lichfields prepared and gave evidence at a public inquiry. Pending construction of the last two phases of development, we have also secured permission for a sustainable “meanwhile use” in the form of the Green Room restaurant, which is built from recycled and recyclable materials.
