The need to deliver significantly more housing was frequently referred to in the Autumn Budget, and the planning reform proposals in the Budget are this month’s headline news. 
Other announcements this month include the Communities Secretary writing to 15 local planning authorities to ask for the exceptional circumstances that justify their failure to produce a post-2004 local plan, to inform the Government’s decision as to whether or not to intervene.
And we review a recent court judgment relating to the importance of accurately interpreting development plan policies.
