Lichfields appointed to be on team to transform the National Portrait Gallery

02 Feb 2018
Lichfields is delighted to announce that the Company will be working together with Jamie Fobert Architects to deliver the biggest ever development project for the National Portrait Gallery since its opening in 1896.

Following the international tender, ‘Inspiring People: Transforming our National Portrait Gallery’, Jamie Fobert Architects has now been appointed to lead on the £35.5m development. As part of the winning team, and working with Jamie Fobert Architects, Lichfields will provide inputs on planning-related considerations as part of the design to increase public and gallery spaces in and around the Grade I listed building, to enhance the Gallery’s entrance and create an improved education centre.

We are thrilled to be involved in this high profile project of national significance and greatly look forward to working with the winning practice and the Gallery
