RTPI Young Planners' Conference 2019

23 Oct 2019
Lichfields is delighted to be supporting the RTPI Young Planners' Conference 2019 to be held in Newcastle and Gateshead. The two-day event, titled “A Sense of Place: Planning and Identity”, will provide a wide range of engaging and informative sessions, workshops and study tours with inspiring speakers covering many crucial planning and development topics.
Lichfields Senior Director Harvey Emms will be co-hosting a Study Tour around the emerging cultural stronghold of The Stephenson Quarter, in Newcastle city centre, highlighting delivery challenges and opportunities, and discuss future aspirations for the area. This study tour has been sponsored by Lichfields.
Associate Director Lucie Bailey will be chairing the “The Coast: Planning on the Edge” session which takes place on 1 November at 9.55am. The panel will discuss how planners have successfully brought these areas back to life through regeneration, the unique issues that are faced along our everchanging coastline and how this knowledge could be applied elsewhere.
On 2 November at 10.00am Planner (and Committee Member) Katherine Simpson will be participating in a vital masterclass on the APC, including an overview of the process, invaluable tips and guidance about the best way to capture your experience to apply to become a Chartered Member of the RTPI.
In addition, Lichfields’ and North East Young Planners’ Committee members Oonagh Cranley (Associate Director); Dominic Crowley (Senior Planner); Andrew Darby (Planner); and Emily Thomson (Planner) will also be in attendance. The Committee have been working hard behind the scenes to bring forward the annual conference this year and look forward to meeting delegates on the 1 and 2 November.
