Double success at RTPI North East Awards for Planning Excellence
Lichfields is delighted to receive the Chair’s Award in addition to being commended for best project of the year at the 2023 RTPI North East Awards for Planning Excellence. The awards, which took place on June 23rd at Newcastle’s Crown Plaza Hotel, recognise and highlight the positive contribution planning professionals make in their communities.
Hamminkeln Place, which won the Chair’s Award, delivers 71 new affordable homes at a highly accessible and sustainable previously developed site in Sedgefield. It achieves a genuine sense of placemaking, demonstrating a strong but distinct character with the considered use of materials and architectural detail.
This is a scheme which will offer wider social benefits and inclusivity into Sedgefield and help support the local economy.
The state-of-the-art NUCASTLE is a community facility and is the home of the Newcastle United Foundation. Their goal is to deliver over 30 different community programmes focused on improving physical health, supporting mental wellbeing, and increasing employability opportunities for young people and those in the most challenged communities.
NUCASTLE has already proved to be a vital community asset and has been sustainably delivered through good planning practice and effective community engagement.
We are elated that Lichfields has been recognised twice at this year’s awards. The awards highlight our exceptional team, valued clients, and the outstanding projects we have contributed to.
