Go-ahead for new housing in Harrogate
We are pleased to announce that Homes England’s Bluecoat Park residential development was unanimously approved at North Yorkshire Council’s Strategic Planning Committee on 10th December 2024.
The project will deliver up to 480 new homes in Harrogate, with a new cricket field and pavilion, football facilities, affordable homes and extensive landscaping. Substantial contributions will be delivered towards supporting infrastructure including highways, education, healthcare and off-site sports provision.
The site forms part of the strategically important West of Harrogate urban extension where approximately 2,500 new homes are proposed, with employment land, new primary schools, community facilities, public transport and green / blue infrastructure.
Lichfields provided the planning, heritage and socio-economic services and acted as the Environmental Impact Assessment co-ordinator.
We are delighted to be assisting Homes England in the delivery of this high-quality residential development which will play a major role in meeting local housing needs and in supporting the Government’s objective of boosting housing delivery.
Thanks to the project team consisting of WSP and IDP.
