Joseph Norton Academy named Construction Project of the Year
01 Oct 2026We’re delighted that Joseph Norton Academy has been named Construction Project of the Year at the National Project Excellence Awards 2026, recognising the exceptional work of the wider project team in delivering a new specialist school for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Lichfields has been proud to support the project team on the development, working closely with Kirklees Council and the wider delivery team to help bring forward this important new educational facility.
The 132-place specialist school will provide additional school places for children and young people aged 4-18. The school has been designed around the skills and individual needs of its pupils, creating a high-quality learning environment that supports their development and wellbeing.
Lichfields has been pleased to provide planning support throughout the development of the project, working as part of the wider team to help bring forward the new school and its benefits for young people in the local area.
