Edinburgh Airport
Launched in November 2019, Edinburgh Airport’s consultation on their proposed Eastern Access Road represents some fine examples of digital community engagement. The project set a new standard for how to design and deliver a coordinated engagement campaign. The key to the success of this engagement was the combination of a highly effective website with a strong digital stakeholder engagement strategy via social media.
Alongside traditional physical events at the Airport and Gyle Shopping Centre, Lichfields designed an interactive map-based engaging website where users could easily access relevant information about the project and then complete an online questionnaire. The site was an overwhelming success with over 1,000 respondents and over 8,000 visitors. Lichfields also tracked the results in real-time to monitor performance.
