Ellenborough Park is a luxury 5* hotel and spa set within extensive grounds near to Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucestershire. Lichfields has been working closely with Michels & Taylor to deliver an enhanced visitor experience through the sensitive internal refurbishment of this Grade II* listed Tudor Manor House – which has a rich and interesting history dating back to the medieval period.
We advised on strategy, including planning, heritage and design considerations, and coordinated pre-application discussions with the Council and Historic England. We also successfully obtained the relevant approvals for these sensitive refurbishment works. The hotel was crowned England’s Leading Country House Hotel 2016.
Working closely with the Council’s Conservation Officer, Lichfields has helped Michels & Taylor to resolve complex planning and heritage issues and assisted with the formulation of new and exciting proposals for this important Grade II* listed hotel and spa.
