Lichfields is pleased to have helped Solum to secure full planning permission at appeal for the redevelopment of the Guildford Station site.
Project
Guildford Station Scheme
Solum Regeneration (Guildford) LLP
The scheme will transform the existing station site into a high quality station quarter, including new station building and plaza, new shops and restaurants, a better station operation and interchange, as well as providing 438 new homes in Guildford town centre.
In allowing the planning appeal in February 2018, the Planning Inspector concluded that the scheme avoids harm to heritage assets and townscape quality, whilst offering very significant social benefits through the provision of new housing and enhanced station facility and clear economic benefits from the employment opportunities created.

Over the past 6 years, we have co-ordinated the original and amended application submissions and associated environmental statement, made representations to the emerging Guildford Local Plan and presented expert evidence on housing, economics and planning at the public inquiry in November 2017.
Lichfields continues to work with Solum on this and other station-led mixed use development projects.
We are very pleased that this exciting brownfield regeneration project has been given the green light. This is a scheme that will transform the area around Guildford station and provide a new gateway to the town. We are very happy with the excellent service that Lichfields has provided in guiding Solum and promoting this proposal through what has been a challenging and complex planning process.
