Project

Kirkby Town Centre regeneration

St Modwen Properties Plc

Lichfields is assisting St Modwen to transform Kirkby Town Centre through a regeneration scheme that provides a new main food shopping destination, retail units, restaurants and leisure facilities. The scheme will greatly improve the offer and attraction of the town centre, as well as underpinning its long term vitality and viability.
Lichfields involvement at pre-application and application stages included close consultation with Knowsley Council and local residents, with over 500 people attending a two day consultation event. In addition to managing the application process, Lichfields prepared a Planning & Retail Statement and Statement of Community Involvement. Knowsley Council’s Planning Committee unanimously approved the full planning application in November 2017.
Lichfields is proud to be involved in delivering large scale regeneration and economic benefits to Kirkby and its residents, having had a long track record of planning the regeneration of in Kirkby Town Centre. Lichfields previously assisted Spenhill / Tesco to obtain permissions for a larger retail-led mixed use scheme, prior to Tesco selling the site to St Modwen.
Lichfields is delighted to have assisted St Modwen in securing planning permission for a major mixed-use retail-led redevelopment of this key town centre site, one which  will significantly boost Kirkby’s retail and leisure offer and the local economy.
