Lichfields provided planning and heritage advice in relation to the redevelopment of a group of mid-19th century Grade II listed buildings within Newcastle’s Central Conservation Area.
In 2018, Lichfields prepared and submitted the planning and listed building consent application, including the Heritage Impact Assessment for the refurbishment and repurposing of vacant floorspace on the upper floors of the buildings to deliver 40 new apartments. Lichfields secured planning permission and Listed Building Consent in December 2018. The apartments were completed in 2021.
Lichfields provided further planning and heritage advice to Gaucho Restaurants for the redevelopment of the ground floor retail unit within the same group of listed buildings. Lichfields co-ordinated the planning and listed building consent applications which were approved in 2022.
