Project
Metropolitan Line Extension
Watford Borough Council and Hertfordshire County Council
Lichfields helped Watford Borough Council and Hertfordshire County Council to secure £50 million of Central Government and Transport for London funding for the Metropolitan Line Extension. This major new local transport project extends the London Underground Metropolitan Line to Watford town centre with the construction of Croxley Rail Link.
To establish a case, we looked at the wider economic impacts likely to unfold along the new route. In particular, we explored the significant scope for new development and wider regeneration that the new rail link could help support. The green light for the project marks the start of a new era for residents and workers in Watford and the surrounding area.
