Lichfields names Spry and Cottrell as new office heads
01 Oct 2020Lichfields is pleased to announce two new office heads:
- Matthew Spry has been named as Lichfields’ new London head, taking over from Neil Goldsmith who held the post for the last seven years; and
- John Cottrell is the new Cardiff head, replacing Gareth Williams who has been office head for the last 10 years.
Neil and Gareth remain in the business and will focus on client work.
Mr Spry joined Lichfields in 1997 and became a Senior Director in 2008. He specialises in large-scale housing projects, airport developments and advises public sector organisations on planning policy and delivery. He was an advisor on the Government’s Local Plans Expert Group in 2016.
Mr Cottrell joined Lichfields as a Senior Director in January, 2011. He specialises in large-scale mixed-use projects including the redevelopment of Central Square in Cardiff, home to the new BBC Wales HQ and HMRC Offices.
We would like to acknowledge the fantastic efforts of Neil and Gareth and are sure that Matthew and John will build upon their notable achievements. Both have the experience and knowledge of the business to help see us through COVID-19, ensure we play a big part in assisting our clients to drive an economic recovery and help seize the many opportunities that a reformed planning system will undoubtedly bring.
