Lichfields has helped to secure outline planning permission for up to 320 new homes, employment and community uses, a new relief road and associated development, on land forming part of the South Maldon Garden Suburb. We first promoted the site for housing through the local plan process and contributed to the development of the Strategic Masterplan Framework for the Garden Suburb. The application scheme embodied the aspirations and principles of that Framework and the Council’s Design Codes , secured though our parameter plans and illustrated on the site masterplan, in response to the pre-application engagement. Following highway, design and planning obligation negotiations, Maldon District Council resolved to conditionally approve the application, in accordance with Officers’ recommendations.
