Alan grew up on the Wirral Peninsula and graduated from the University of Liverpool. After a spell in Cheshire West & Cheshire’s Regeneration Team he spent 12 years advising private and public sector clients in London and the Southeast, before relocating back to the North West in 2023. Alan specialises in mixed-use development, urban living and tall buildings, including Build-to-Rent, Co-Living and Purpose-Built Student Accommodation.
Alan manages projects from acquisition due diligence and appraisal to pre-application negotiation, consultation, submission, consent and delivery. He has a strong understanding of the policy, political and commercial drivers that deliver successful planning outcomes.
His recent experience includes Cotton Quay in Salford, the regeneration of Greenwich Peninsula, the Borough Triangle and Devonshire Place developments in Southwark, and the Barnsbury and South Kilburn estate regeneration schemes. Alan previously advised on the 22 Bishopsgate office and 150 Bishopsgate hotel developments in the City of London, Westfield’s expansion of Stratford City, the redevelopment of Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre, as well as the Broad Street Mall and Phase 1 of Station Hill development in Reading.
