As a football fan, one of my highlights has been helping Bristol City Football Club obtain planning permission for the redevelopment of its stadium.

I really like the range of work you get to do – I’ve already got experience in housing, retail, leisure, heritage and employment.

After ten years here I’ve seen the Manchester office grow from a small team to a major player in the North West. In that time I’ve developed a specialism in town centre planning, but there are always plenty of opportunities to do other things, and I specially enjoy working with colleagues in other offices.

What has surprised me about Lichfields is the real sense of belonging. Even though we’re all spread out all over the country, the offices really do interact and support each other. I like the flexible approach to working too – the emphasis is on what you achieve, not how many hours you’re in the office. That’s very modern, and especially helpful to people like me, who have young kids.

Lichfields gives you great opportunities to develop new skills. If you work hard and do well you’ll see your career develop, and the culture is really positive, with a strong team ethos and an emphasis on innovation and new ideas. I particularly value the network of expert groups where we share best practice and expertise to develop our knowledge and skills. I really wanted to work here because Lichfields had such a good reputation.
